Chapter Nine

Trevor stood in the bathroom entrance, a shoulder propped on the casing, watching Shelby lounge in the bathtub with her head tipped back. As he’d suggested previously, she’d lit the candles but hadn’t turned on the overhead light. Steam wafted through the room, and for a long time, he savored the sight of her relaxing, damp tendrils of her hair curled against her cheeks and neck.

As if sensing him, she turned her head toward him. “Thank you for this. It really is the ultimate luxury.”

“I’m glad to see you enjoy it. You’re the only one who has.”

She lifted her neck from the tub’s rim. “You’ve never soaked in here?”

He raised a hand. “I swear I haven’t.”

“In that case, I think you should.”

Indeed? Trevor quirked an eyebrow. “Should I?”

“Absolutely.” She twirled her index finger round and round in the water. “Now, even.”

He couldn’t be certain in the seductive darkness, but her cheeks seemed to redden. Even after everything they’d shared, she could still be shy?

“There’s room for both of us.”

“I accept your invitation.” Not needing to be asked twice, he kicked off his boat shoes and pulled off his shirt.

Shelby watched interestedly as he removed his shorts.

“You’re already half-hard, Sir.”

And her words finished him off.

With his cock leading the way, he walked toward her. “Ideas on how this will work?” Because the faucet was mounted on the wall near the middle of the tub, they could theoretically face each other, but he was interested in what she had in mind.

“I thought maybe you could fit behind me.”

So he could wrap his arms around her and play with her gorgeous body? His dick became even harder. “Excellent suggestion.”

She inched forward, and he stepped into the small space behind her. “You’ll need to move up some more.”

“How do I always forget how big your body is?”

Even though she gave him a little more room, he had to nudge her farther forward again. Water came dangerously close to splashing out onto the floor.

Once he was behind her, he drew her back into the V between his legs. “That’s better.”

“The fit is tighter than I expected.”

And much more appealing than he could have imagined. “Lean back against me.”

Shelby adjusted her position so she could rest her head on his chest, and he cradled her with the tenderness she deserved. “This was an excellent suggestion.” He breathed her in as he stroked her hair. “Did you add bath salts or something?”

“Mmm-hmm.” She sounded sleepy and content. “It’s a combination of eucalyptus and spearmint. And you may also be smelling the candles.”

“Nicer than my showers.”

She stroked her hand across his knee. “Thank you for this evening. Having my friends here was fun, and I know you went to a lot of effort to make it special. I appreciate it.”

At some point, maybe she’d realize how much he wanted to please her. For a few minutes, they breathed together, content to relax in each other’s company without needing to talk.

“Do you mind if I add a little hot water?” she asked.
